Overview

This programme is aimed at those who wish to progress on to a T Level, a trade or an Apprenticeship within the construction industry. It will give you a broad choice of career routes into construction trades or civil engineering industries.  

On this course you will cover:  

  • Construction technology (Exam) 
  • Construction and design  
  • Scientific and mathematical applications for construction  
  • Sustainability in construction  
  • Construction processes and operations (Exam) 
  • Exploring Brickwork and Blockwork  
  • The Construction Industry 
  • Exploring Carpentry 
  • Construction Processes and Operations 

Assessment is by assignments and externally set projects.  

Choose this course if… you have a good understanding of Maths, English and Science and would like an introduction into the construction trades or civil engineering industry. There is a requirement to undertake some work experience and employer engagement. 

Progression and careers: On completion of the Level 2 Transition you could go onto study a Level 2 Technical in a chosen trade, an Apprenticeship in a trade or Civil Engineering discipline or a Level 3 T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning, On Site Construction (Carpentry, Bricklaying or Painting and Decorating) or Building Services (Electrical and Plumbing).   

Entry Requirements

Four grade 3’s to include both English and Maths at a 3, you will be required to study English or Maths alongside your course if you don’t have a 4.
