At school I knew I wanted to do IT and Networking. I chose this course because I wanted to do solely IT at college - it’s much nicer to be in an environment of IT rather than having to do lots of different subjects.

On the course you’re taught about the business side of IT instead of just the theory side, and you do more hands-on work. We did most of our technical units in year one and in year two we’re doing multimedia, including graphic design and animation. It splits it up well because you focus on the technical theory side of things in the first year and go into more creative topics in the second year.

One thing I like about college compared to school is that you can email lecturers with any questions and they’ll get back to you with an answer. You get marked on work over the two years, it’s not a case of learning all the topics and getting marked on one exam at the end of the year. It’s split up and it makes it more relaxed.
