About the course

This course prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Upon achievement of this qualification you will be able to enter the workforce as an Early Years Educator or access Higher Education. The course is equivalent to three A Levels.

This course will give you the opportunity to study a broad range of topics including child development, child health and well-being, play and learning and preparing for school readiness.

You will also gain valuable experience in real work environments, developing and demonstrating skills of observing and assessing children’s development as well as planning and preparing fun and educational activities.

Learners are required to complete a minimum of 750 hours of work placement, divided across the age ranges. You will need a DBS check to allow you to participate in work placements.

The course covers a wide range of theoretical and practical skills, with a particular vocational focus, resulting in the development of highly desirable employability skills.
