Go to university and study for a degree such as the BEng (Hons) in Engineering and Technology, BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering, BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering design or progress in to employment as a technical engineer in the field of Mechanical or Electronic EngineeringWhat is involved?
You will develop your understanding of the principles and processes used in engineering. You will also extend the practical skills that you will have gained by completing a L3 Extended Certificate in Engineering.
You will be involved in studying mechanical, electrical and electronic principles and applications; in addition to communication techniques, engineering drawing and computer aided design.
There will be an emphasis on working safely, whilst gaining knowledge of the tools, equipment, principles and processes that are used within the engineering industry alongside health and safety in the workplace.
Your work will be assessed, through the completion of assignments, projects,practical tasks and exams.Progression
You will be able to progress to employment or to Higher Education at degree level on a course such as BEng (Hons) in Engineering and Technology, BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering or BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering Design.
