Art & Design

The creative arts are at the forefront of British economic growth.

The understanding engendered through studying art, design and photography at QMC equips young people with a visual literacy which enriches their lives and their cognition, whilst the skills they learn prepare them for higher level study or employment. The teachers in the department are also practising artists and will work with you throughout your time at Queen Mary’s College to develop your skills and ideas in whichever subject you choose. You will be taught in a purpose-built space with 2 Fine Art studios, a Textiles studio, a Print room, a Ceramics studio, a Photographic studio with darkroom and wet processing facilities, a Graphic Design studio and 2 fully equipped computer suites. You can expect the work you produce to form part of a revolving programme of exhibitions around the College.
