Entry Requirements: Standard A Level entry requirements apply. For this course you will also need a Grade 6 in Mathematics and a Grade 6 in Chemistry or Combined Science.
We live in an age of Chemistry-based technology; our clothes, our food and our environment are all products of Chemistry in action. This course will help you understand the way different substances behave and react with each other and how new products are developed. This course is particularly suitable for anyone with an interest in understanding science and how it affects the world around us.
Your Course
There is a mixture of class teaching, practical investigations, class discussions and group work. Wherever possible, you will do practical work as a basis for your studies. If you are not studying Maths or Biology you will need to study Core Maths.
Your Future
With a qualification in one or more of the sciences you could go on to a Higher Education course in one of your subjects or, with a suitable combination of subjects, courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Environmental Science are possible. Alternatively, you will be well-equipped to pursue careers in a science-based industry or business.
