We offer a wide range of courses for school leavers, adults looking to learn new skills to enhance their careers, people in the community interested in leisure courses and people looking to return to work. Our courses include technical and professional, degree level courses through the University Centre and Apprenticeships.
If you have completed the National Foundation Diploma, you will be able to complete the National Extended Diploma Course which offers you more complex CAD and modelling skills. Fabrication, further maths, mechanical principles and hydraulic and pneumatic systems will give you a better understanding of the demands of industry. You will also be measuring and testing components and developing advanced circuit components whilst building your knowledge of the wider industry.
You will need to have successfully completed the National Foundation Diploma in Engineering and have 5 GCSE's grades C or above (9-4) including English and maths.
The course provides the opportunity for you to develop knowledge and skills in the design, development manufacture and maintenance of engineering products and systems. You will study mandatory units. All units must be passed to achieve the qualification.

There are no optional units on this qualification.
After successful completion of this course you may go on to higher education or into a specialist area of employment.
You will complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. All the units are assessed by course assignments, which meet grading criteria for Pass, Merit and Distinction.
