If a career in sport appeals to you, our 90 Credit Diploma course will give you the understanding you need to work in the sport and leisure industry. Studying on the course focuses your development in order to be successful in the industry. As part of the course you will study the principles of anatomy and physiology, the physiology of fitness, fitness training, testing and programming. You'll also gain specialist training in a wide range of sports principles and techniques to improve your own performance, fitness and coaching.
4 GCSEs at grade C (4-9) or above including English or maths. This is a one year course that is equivalent to 1.5 A-levels. You will complete the 90 Credit Diploma course in your first year, and you can then progress onto our Extended Diploma qualification in your second year. This will help you to attain the optional units required to attain the full 3 A level equivalent qualification in your chosen subject.
This qualification is designed as a one year, full-time course covering the underpinning knowledge required for the sports sector. You will gain the knowledge and skills needed to work in the sports industry. You will also learn other transferable skills such as team working, presentation and personal management skills by organising and leading sports activities and events. Working with and visiting a variety of professional sports organisations and businesses including Life Leisure, Manchester Velodrome, Manchester United Football Club, the FA Museum.

The course prepares you for entry to study a 2nd year and top up to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
