Uxbridge College’s Careers Team provides a comprehensive careers service to help current and prospective students to make decisions about their future training, education and work options. This free service is available all year round and includes:

Prospective Students.

Confidential & impartial careers interviews with a qualified Careers Advisor
Information and advice about courses at Uxbridge College
Specialist information and advice about apprenticeships
Specialist careers advice for learners that are in care or leaving care and learners who have an Education Health Care Plan
A drop-in service for quick questions and careers advice
Dedicated evening sessions for parents, which include a tour of the college and advice on options after year 11.

Specialist careers advice for learners that are in care or leaving care and learners who have an Education Health Care Plan
Help with CV writing, completing application forms, preparing for interviews and vacancy searching
Specialist information and advice about apprenticeships
Information and advice about progression to the next level at Uxbridge College and to other providers
Personal Statement drop-ins for those students who are applying to university
Careers, Higher Education and Employability resources online and via ‘My Uxbridge’ and the VLE (current students only).

In addition current students are invited to attend events throughout the year to support their progression e.g. a Higher Education Fair, a Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair, talks about higher education from visiting universities and careers and progression events in the local area.

UCAS Registration and Process (for Level 3 students looking to go into Higher Education)

Parents/Guardians

At Uxbridge College we recognise the important role parents, guardians and carers play in helping their son/daughter in deciding on their post-16 options. The need for clear, concise and impartial information on the choices available has never been so important. The Careers Team offers a dedicated service for parents which includes:

Parent tours – evening sessions for parents to see college facilities and talk to staff
The opportunity to meet with a qualified Careers Adviser to talk about post-16 options
An opportunity to meet specialist staff to discuss the specific needs of young people with Education Health Care Plans
Advice on the financial support available at the college including Free College Meals, bursaries and travel cards.
