If you are not sure what course you want to study or even if college is right for you please email our team of careers advisers for impartial and confidential advice at advice@wcg.ac.uk.
You can talk to a careers adviser about career choices, progression to Higher Education or any other training and educational opportunities.
The Careers Team can offer:
- individual guidance interviews with an adviser
- support with job and training opportunities
- help and advice on choosing a course
- computer-aided career choice programmes and information databases
- help with employment, training and education applications

Careers Education at WCG
WCG is committed to providing all students with access to high-quality careers education and advice.
Students receive extensive on programme support from specialist tutors, industry experts and local employers and the Careers Team provide a comprehensive Careers Programme. Students also complete "Skills to Succeed" as part of their study programme which is designed to support and develop key employability skills such as job searching, interview skills and maintaining a responsible online presence.
WCG Careers Leadership
The Government's Careers guidance document published in February 2018 describes how colleges should use the Gatsby Charitable Foundation's Benchmarks to develop and improve provision.
In preparation for this Nicola Perrett, Director of Student Services has been appointed the Careers Leader for WCG supported by Emma Williamson, Head of Careers and Information. They also form part of the newly established Careers Leadership Committee, led by the Vice Principal for Quality, Student Services, Teaching and Learning, whose purpose is to ensure the new Careers Strategy is implemented.
