Description

This course is for students who have gained a level 2 vehicle maintenance and repair diploma or sub diploma qualification. The course builds on the skills learnt at Level 2 and majors on the diagnostics and repair of vehicle faults. It will involve both knowledge (classroom) and skills (workshop) sessions.

Assessment methods

Assessment will be via practical assignments, written phase tests, external exams and porfolios.

Entry requirements

IMI L2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent and a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 4, to include English & Mathematics or L2 Functional Skills. Mature students working in the industry will be considered for direct entry.

During the course you will be encouraged to find work placements and apprenticeship opportunities. There will be additional sessions helping you prepare for the workplace and find work opportunities.. Industry Placements are an integral part of the study programme for all FE Learners at WCG. Learners on Level 1 and 2 programmes will be required to undertake 60 hours of relevant placement per academic year and Learners at Level 3 will be required to undertake between 72 hours up to 315 hours (45 day placement) per year depending on requirements of Maths and English.
