The VLE and our student portals

As a West Herts College student, you'll have access to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) from any online device, 24/7. The VLE gives you access to materials and coursework as well as links to helpful resource.

All full-time students also have access to ProPortal and E-Portfolio, where you can access your grades and predicted grades, track your progress and monitor your attendance.

Learning Resource Centres

In our LRCs you’ve got the world at your fingertips - as well as a substantial collection of books and journals, you have access to a range of electronic databases and websites, all there to help you research and complete your studies and assignments. You'll also have open access to computers, specialist software and high-speed internet connection.

One-to-one support

You can book yourself a one-to-one study skills session with our LRC staff, who can provide advice on planning your workload, research, drafting work, revision techniques and completing your assignments. It’s all part of a service dedicated to helping you achieve the very best grades you can. Drop into any LRC to book your session.

Learning Support

During the first few weeks of term we assess all our students. This is so we can identify any areas where you may need extra help with your studies. We can then offer you individual support such as specialist teaching, adapted materials, classroom support and special examination arrangements.

Students with additional needs in Higher Education are required to apply for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) to receive funded support during their course.
