What's covered?

This course will improve your practical skills and you will be introduced to underpinning knowledge, industrial studies, machine tool systems, materials and other modules vital to mechanical/production engineering. Trainees and apprentices in their first year explore more advanced techniques and procedures.

This course builds on existing knowledge and further develops the practical skills, techniques and associated studies of trainee engineers and other personnel in mechanical/ production engineering.

What do you need?

You will need GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above and English at grade 3 or above. GCSE Science at grade 3 or above is preferred, but not essential. Alternatively, a Level 2 Diploma in Engineering, with minimum grade 4 in Maths. You will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm for engineering at your interview.

You will be assessed by theoretical and practical assignments.
