We aim to help you to develop:
- skills in arts and crafts
- the underpinning knowledge of the arts and crafts process
- your knowledge of enterprise and opportunities for employment in the creative sector
- the skills to progress to further learning
On these courses you will:
- develop a portfolio of work
- use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely
- develop research skills
- evaluate own work, develop ideas and learning through the arts and craft process
- develop an understanding of the health and safety consideration in the classroom
There are many subjects to choose from including Painting & Drawing, Sewing & Textiles, Pottery, Knitting & Crochet, Jewellery Making and much more. Taking part in group creative activities can also help improve your health and wellbeing, which is ideal to support you and your family.
All our teachers have experience of working in the creative industries and we offer courses at all levels from complete beginners to Level 3.
There will be options to take additional work ready qualifications including first aid and food hygiene alongside your main course, just ask your teacher for details.
These courses will help you to think creatively, solve problems and provide you with transferable skills useful for everyday life and for any job. Creative related jobs may be in self-employment or in employment as an artist, designer, art therapist, art gallery curator, textile designer, art teacher, machinist and much more.
